A Day on the Bus

To give the legs a rest today we got on the L'Open Tour today. We did 2 different circuits - Montmartre and the Grand Tour. Fantastic way to get around Paris sitting on the top deck with a commentary the whole way.  Driving up the  Champs-Elysees and next to the Seine was amazing.

Thought Montmartre was a bit feral. Maybe we didn't see the good part !

Great dinner out in our neighbourhood last night. The boys discovered that the French do great Steak and Chips !!

Cheers

Disneyland

Huge day at Paris Disney - in at opening (10am) and out at close (7pm). Quite a change of pace from previous days in Paris. We all had a ball. Its not hard to enjoy Disney but we were blessed with great weather and no crowds. Most rides had 5 minute queues which meant we could go on Indiana Jones roller coaster ride 3 times in a row !! Fun !!!

Alexander was a little frieked by the characters (as they were so much bigger than him). He loved the Buzz Lightyear shooting ride (twice!). Very careful not to shoot Buzz, only the bad guys  !

The legs took another pounding today. Kids crashed tonight. Quiet day tomorrow ...

Cheers

Louvre & new shoes

Buggered, feet ache, too many Jesus paintings, sad sorry lot back then I must say. If not Jesus, little naked children or slaughtered animals. Loved the African art far more uplifting. Mona impressive but fail to comprehend why she is more special than the rest... please explain? "Apparently, something to do with the fact no table in front of her and she's angled at a three quarter degree, with left eye precisely in the middle", quote Blake, he listed to the headset. I missed that bit.  On a brighter note, new shoes, gorgeous new clothes for Alex and a fabulous dinner.  Love to all Carolyn xx

Chasing pidgeon !!

It's a new sport !!!

A Day at the Louvre (well 5 hours!)

Up early again - this is becoming a habit. Out on the street before the sun was up ! Stumbled onto an awesome Crepe place with 50 different types. Munch, munch... seems like we are eating a lot !

Destination today was the Louvre. An amazing museum with so much to see. The building itself is a masterpiece. Blake is not sure why the Mona Lisa gets so much attention when there are so many others.  Tend to agree, but also wonder why they painted what they painted in the 1500's. Hamilton intrigued by the general lack of clothes !! Lots of questions today ...

Shopping again this afternoon for more warm clothes ! These guys know how to dress so its not a bad place to shop...

Until tomorrow (Disneyland !).

Wow - what a walk !!

Up super early this morning as everyone still getting used to time difference. Paris in the morning with no crowds and blue sky looks amazing. Walked to the Eiffel Tower (6km) and had coffee and baguettes along the way. Got the lift to the top - great views on a cold but stunning morning.

Great lunch just off Champs-Elysees to re-fuel. More walking in the afternoon and shopping at Galeries Lafayette. Wow amazing building - check out the Christmas tree !

Home for wine, cheese and other yummy stuff for dinner (can't resist the fois gras !).

Talk tomorrow.

my thoughts

Wow what a luxury to have all the family together for three months. Day two coming to a close and unwinding kicking in. There is so much in Paris to love and seeing it through the boys eyes this time even more amazing. Love our apartment, the food, wine, cheese, and bakery - all brilliant. Love Carolyn xxxx
